July 25th 2021: Hiking in Sudbury, Concord, Lincoln and Winchester

This drizzly morning, I started out early with a shor hike at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge in Sudbury, where the path I took from the end of Moore Road to get to the water body here is shown below in pink.

Not bad for a short hike.

Next, it was on to Miller Farm in Concord, where the path I took to try to find the water body here is shown below in pink.

Couldn't get any views of the water body here at all, and I spent a few rounds trying to look for it.
From here, it was on to the town of Lincoln to hike at the Fiske Hill area of the Minuteman National Historical Park. The path I took here to check out the water bodies here is shown below in pink.

The first water body was nothing special,
then it was on past the visitor center, which was closed this early in the morning,

the Jacob Whittemore house,

the Bluff,

the Hayward Well,

and Fiske Hill, where there were no views to be had.
Overall, still nothing special from this hike, though very historical.

Next, heading into Lexington, I visited MA France, the French grocery in town,

getting the Almond Croissant

and the Apple Tart.

Unfortunately, I did not get to try either. I have had good stuff from this place in the past though.

From here, it was on to my final hike of the day at Locke Farm Conservation Area in Winchester, which is right next to Whipple Hill in Lexington, which I visited a while back. This time, the path I took to get to Locke Pond and Wright-Locke Farm is shown below in pink.

Locke Pond itself was not bad a look, although pretty swampy.
The other pond right next to the farm was even worse.

At this point as the farm was right there in front of me, I decided to venture out into it instead of back into the woods. Pretty decent farm.

An okay day for hiking in the rain, overall.

For dinner, we decided to get takeout from Shrewsbury Pizzaria, getting the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo pizza

and the Shrewsbury Special Pizza (Pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, meatballs, green peppers, onions & mushrooms).

Pretty good pizza, although the chicken alfredo was a little on the salty side.

July 18th 2021: Breakfast in Malden, Lunch in Winchester

Today, while in the new City Hall Plaza area of Malden at 215 Pleasant Street,

we decided to get some bites from the new Tous Les Jours location across the road.

We got the Coconut Cream Bread,

the Pain Aux Raisin,

the Crispy Almond Pastry,
the Green Tea Croissant,

and the Matcha Frappe.

Pretty good food from here as always.

For lunch, we decided to check out Mitho Restaurant, a Nepalese place in the town of Winchester which has taken the place of Cafe Piazza Dolce, which we visited once before in the past. The decor looks somewhat similar to before.

We got the Gundruk Soup (Cured sun-dried Mustard leaf blended with our tomato sauce and organic textured soy),

the Chicken Mushroom Tarkari (served with steamed basmati rice)

and the Lamb Tass (cast iron pan-grilled seasoned with dry-rubbed herbs and spices cooked to perfection and served with seasonal stir-fried fresh vegetables on olive oil and steamed basmati rice).

Pretty flavorful and unique, especially the soup. Definitely a better replacement for the Italian restaurant before it.

Very good day for eating in Malden and Winchester.

May 22nd 2021: Checking Out Ponds in Winchester

Today, while waiting for my other half to be done with her errands, I decided to check out two ponds in Winchester, firstly Leonard Pond,

located at the back of Leonard Field,

then Mill Pond,

which is right in front of the Town Hall and the Public Library. The first pond was just alright, but I never realized that there was a nice waterfall at Mill Pond.

August 16th 2018: More Thai at Thana Thai, Arlington

After checking out the Winchester Public Library in Winchester this morning,
We decided to get lunch at Thana Thai, a Thai restaurant in Arlington,

getting the Thai Iced Lemon Tea,
the Ba Mee Pu Moo Dang (Super jumbo crab meat, scallion, small soup, steamed egg noodles, u-choy, house sauce, roasted pork, garlic, cilantro, egg noodles.)
and the Grilled Chicken Curry (Special curry, bell pepper, coconut milk, basil, pineapple, grape, tomato, green pea, grilled chicken).
The drink wasn't to my liking, having sour plum in it, but the food was pretty good, although the chicken in the curry did not seem grilled. A little on the Americanized side though, this place.
