We ventured out to the Rockport Breakwater from the end of Bearskin Neck,
where one can see the Straitsmouth Island Light from afar.
From here, I went on to visit other places in town,
Shalin Liu Performance Center |
First Congregational Church |
Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport |
Old Andrew Carnegie Library, 18 Jewett Street |
Rockport United Methodist Church |
Post Office, 39 Broadway |
Fire Department, 37 Broadway |
Town Hall, 34 Broadway |
St. Mary's Episcopal Church |
Rockport Baptist Church |
Fake Lighthouse, Broadway and Mount Pleasant Street |
Motif #1 |
Rockport Harbor, T-Wharf |
Old Garden Beach, Old Garden Road and Harraden Avenue |
Straitsmouth Cove Landing, Marmion Way and Straitsmouth Way |
like the Rockport Public Library,
The Headlands, consisting of a short hike from 25 Atlantic Avenue to great ocean views
and a view of Straitsmouth Island Light,
Steep Bank Landing at the end of Whale Cove Lane,
with yet another view of Straitsmouth Island Light,
and finally Flat Rock Point, a short hike from 30 Eden Road to views,
of both Straitsmouth Island Light in the distance
and Thacher Island close up.
Finally, it was time for dinner, so we decided to check out Pho Paris, a pretty nice Vietnamese restaurant in the town of Peabody. We got the Hu Tieu Mi Phuc Kien (Phuc Kien Style Soup),
and the Pho Tai Bo Vien (noodle soup, rare eye round steak, beef meatballs).
both of which were really good, the former reminding me of home. Glad we finally got to try this place.
With that, a day of exploring Rockport was finally at an end.
