509 Columbus Avenue |
we decided to check out Cafe Madeleine, a French bakery in the South End area of Boston. Pretty small place with few seats.
We got the Tropezienne (light, fluffy brioche, hints of candied orange peel, topped with almond streussel, and filled with vanilla bean pastry cream),
the Croissant,
the Madeleine (with hints of vanilla bean and lemon zest),
the Cafe au Lait,
and the Brioche (rich but light buttery eggy dough, topped with Belgian pearl sugar).
Excellent pastries, as good as in Paris, except for the coffee as always. No need to go to France any more.
