March 30th 2021: A Day Out in Duxbury

Today, we decided to venture out to the town of Duxbury, famous for its oysters. By the time we got there, it was already lunchtime, so we decided to have lunch at The Oysterman, a small but chic seafood restaurant in town.

We got the MILLBROOK MAI TAI (white and dark rum, pomegranate liqueur, orgeat syrup, lime juice, pineapple juice, fresh squeezed orange juice),
the BUTTERMILK FRIED OYSTERS (lightly breaded oysters, chipotle aioli),
the OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL (freshly shucked oysters from duxbury and beyond),
the BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH (buttermilk battered chicken breast, mayonnaise, house brined pickles, hand cut fries),

and the SHRIMP AND LOBSTER SCAMPI (roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, scallions, roasted garlic, herb white wine sauce over fresh linguine).
Pretty expensive meal, but really tasty with great presentation. The drink was excellent when mixed, the oysters really fresh, the chicken tender, yet juicy and crispy, while there was lots of lobster meat in the pasta.

From here, it was on to exploring a few places in town,
Duxbury Free Library

From here, we proceeded to the Powder Point Bridge area at the junction of Powder Point Avenue and King Caesar Road,
Powder Point Beach

370 Powder Point Avenue
and we went on a slow drive across the long wooden bridge.

Thankfully today, we were allowed to head toward Gurnet Light in Plymouth on the long rocky road there without stickers as it is still spring. Unfortunately, due to the no trespassing signs, we decided to stop short of going to the lighthouse by car,

so I did the trek there myself.

One can see Saquish Beach

and a glimpse of Duxbury Pier Light/Bug Light in the distance.

Heading back to the car, we went for a walk along Duxbury Beach,

before calling it a day and heading back. Of course, when in Duxbury, we had to buy some fresh oysters from the Island Creek Oysters Retail Shop in town.

Unfortunately, we did not have shucking knives at home, so we had to resort to boiling the oysters to get them to open. Oh well. At least we had a good time in Duxbury today.

March 29th 2021: Second Time at Dean Park Pizzeria, Shrewsbuy

Today, we decided to get takeout from Dean Park Pizzeria in Shrewsbury which I visited once a long long time ago, this time getting the Sweet Heat (sriracha chicken, pineapple, cooked and topped with scallions)

and the Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo.

The pizza was really good, with a little sweetness, yet not that spicy, while the shrimp was fresh and the sauce creamy, and lots of gooey cheese as well. Really good for takeout today.

March 28th 2021: Suzette Creperie and Cafe, Worcester

This morning, we decided to check out Suzette Creperie and Cafe in Worcester, which has taken the place of the Weintraub's Jewish Delicatessen, which I visited once a long time ago. Nice change to the decor.

We got the Hot Chocolate, Steak and Cheese (shaved beef, cheese, Worcestershire Sauce), Suzette (orange marmalade, almond paste).

The orange marmalade was not bad at first, but then became bitter due to the skin used. I also did not like the corned beef taste to the savory crepe. Thankfully the drink was pretty good. Overall, I have had better.

We also took the opportunity to give OneZo across the road another try, this time getting the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea.

A tad sweet in my opinion.

March 27th 2021: Rancho Corona, Northborough

Today, we decided to have lunch at Rancho Corona, a new restaurant in Northborough that I believe has taken the place of Bistro Limoncello, which I visited a long time ago. Nice decor inside, although we chose to sit outside.

We got the SIETE MARES (Traditional mexican seafood with shrimp, clams, scallops, octopus, mussels, crab legs, tilapia served with vegetables), which came in an interesting looking stone pot,

and the BORREGO DON MATUTE (Lamb shank marinated in a delicious red chili pepper sauce, baked slowly until tender and served with marinade sauce, rice, refried beans, Pico De Gallo, and avocado slices.)
The soup was very flavorful, and the seafood was fresh as well, allow the Jonah crab claws could not be cracked. I have never had lamb at a Mexican restaurant either, and it was really good as well.

Needless to say, a really good Mexican meal, and my little one approved as well.
