March 14th 2021: Eating Out in Lowell

Today, we decided to head out to Lowell for some grocery shopping.

Cambodia Town Monument,
Branch Street and Middlesex Street

For lunch, we decided to check out Laos Thai Kitchen, a new Laotian Thai place in town. Pretty typical layout for a Vietnamese sort of restaurant.

We decided to get the Stuffed Tapioca Balls (ground pork, peanut and radish wrapped in tapioca dough. Served with dried chilli pepper and Lao sweet tamarind sauce. Traditionally eaten wrapped in lettuce), called Sakoo Yat Sai in Laotian,

the Mee Ka Tee, a Laotian coconut noodle soup,

and the Boat Noodle (rice noodles, bean sprouts, scallions, fried garlic and beef in herbal soup), a Thai noodle soup.
the dumplings were really tasty by themselves, made better with the chilli sauce. The noodle soups were excellent as well. Definitely worth a return to, this place.

For dessert, we went next door to Sowy's Bakery, a hole in the wall place where I got a Custard Cream Horn.
Not bad, but nothing special.

Not satisfied, we decided to go next to Snowdaes, a shaved snow place, where we got a Brown Sugar Milk Tea
and the Green Tea Special (matcha snow, red beans, condensed milk, almonds).

The drink was a little on the sweet side, but tasty, and the ice cream was very smooth. Pretty good dessert from this place.
