This morning, we decided to check out Perk and Parcel, a new cafe in the town of Westborough. Simple but modern.
I got the Croissant
and the Short Rib Sandwich (Braised Short Rib with Mac & Cheese, Pickles, Chipotle Mayo). The croissant was not bad, and the sandwich was greasy and sinfullu tasty. Might consider coming back again when they do have more bakery stuff. For dinner, we decided to get takeout from Woodlands, an Indian vegetarian restaurant nearby in the same town. I believe this place took over from Masala Cafe, which I visited a while back. I like the decor better now, but maybe it's because no one else was in the place, with lots of takeout orders.
For food, we got the Mixed Vegetables Pakoras (mixed vegetables, mixed with chickpea, spices, herbs and fried to perfection), the Mysore Masala Dosa (a thin golden and crispy rice and lentil crepe layered with special Mysore chutney. Served with sambar and chutney),and the Guntur Eggplant Potato Curry (bay eggplant cooked in roasted spices with tomatoes and onion curry). The pakoras unfortunately were not that crispy by the time I brought them home, but still tasty. There were so many sauces and curries though that we did not know which was meant for the dosa, but we tried all of them anyway. Really delicious vegetarian food, made my other half a believer that vegetarian food could be good as well.
