After the snow had stopped, we decided to venture out after digging my car out to the Burlington Mall in Burlington,
getting some interesting tasting popcorn for gifts from Inpopnito, a gourmet popcorn store, and a Mango Watermelon smoothie from Tropical Fruit Smoothies in the mall.
Pretty good smoothie actually, made with fresh watermelons, although the mango component was juice. They even gave me a small cup for the extra portion they had left over.
Dinner was at Mario's Ristorante, an old style Italian restaurant in North Reading.
With our coupon, we got a lot of food, getting the Seafood Chowder,
the Arancini (Rice Ball),
the 1/2 Rack of Ribs (Slow roasted 100% pork ribs topped with Mario's Rib Sauce),
the Melanzana (Fresh eggplant with garlic, basil, mozzarella and tomato sauce) pizza,
the Frutti Di Mare (Muscles, little neck clams, calamari, shrimp, scallops, mushrooms and tomatoes all sautéed in a spicy red marinara sauce with ziti)
and the Cannoli (with chocolate chips) for dessert.
Overall, even though the food was not bad, I did not think it was anything special, although my other half would think otherwise. Not sure I would drive all the way out here again in future.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
