December 23rd 2016: Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream

A day that culminated in watching a Disney on Ice performance started off with breakfast at La Esquina del Sabor, a small Latin American cafe in Revere. We got Maduros (Sweet Plantains) and Mondongo (tripe soup with rice and salad).

The plantains weren't too bad,  although the soup was a little too strong in stomach flavor for me.

Lunch was at the Burger Dive, a nice fast food burger place in Somerville.

I wasn't expecting too much from this place as we got the Brunch Burger (Iceberg lettuce,  Vine ripe tomato, cage free fried egg, potato chips, cheddar cheese,  Applewood bacon),

But the burger itself was pretty good,  and they have a lot of different sauces here, which we just had to try with a bother order of Crispy Onion Petals,

And they were Crispy and delicious as advertised.

Dinner before the show was at Sugidama Soba and Izakaya, a pretty new Japanese restaurant in Somerville serving soba and yakitori,

Of which we got the Kamo Seiro (Duck cold soba with hot dipping sauce),

The Hotate Yakitori (Soy sauce and butter Flavored scallops)

And the Green Tea Japanese Cheesecake with Red Bean Ice Cream for dessert.

A really disappointing meal, to say the least. The sauce for the soba was nothing special, even being a little on the sweet side,  with way too much soba as well. The scallops were below average,  as was even the dessert. Not coming back again for sure.

It was my first time inside the Agganis Arena,

and the same watching a Disney on Ice show.

I wasn't expecting to be impressed, and it was the case with the early skits for Cinderella,

Princess and the Frog

And Snow White.

But Tangled had some death defying scenes where the performers were swinging around with nothing but hard Ice below.

I just wish they had more time for including other stories,  and there was no mention of Frozen.

Not a bad experience though.
