Calypso St. Barth
and Joie.
Our first meal was at Dig Inn, a nice cafeteria style salad place
where we got a Market Bowl with our own choice of toppings and a Berry Iced Tea.
The tea was alright I guess, but the salad itself was really tasty.
Our next meal was at Saltie Girl, a pretty upscale but small seafood place.
We got the Foie Gras BLT Toast (seared foie gras / pork belly / tomato jam / house English muffin),
the Snow Crab Toast (avocado / pistachios / stracciatella)
and the Cockle Cocktail (torched avocado, truffle oil, sea salt).
Pretty small portions, but an amazing combination of flavors in every dish. Our meal ended with a cute and water expandable napkin as well.
Excellent meal to say the least. Definitely coming back here again some day.
There was more of the day to come. Later, we were in the town of Oxford, and decided to grab dinner at the Whistle Stop, a popular bar restaurant in town.
We got the Fall Harvest Chicken (Walnut encrusted chicken breast served over apple-cranberry risotto, drizzled with maple cider glaze, garnished with deep fried sage leaves & served with seasonal vegetable & cornbread),
the flavors of which were not bad, but the chicken breast was a little dry, as was the cornbread and the bland sweet potatoes. Overall, not my cup of tea. We did have a lot of fun on Newbury Street today though, so much we might just do it again next week.
