Dinner tonight was at Chinese Mirch in Shrewsbury a branch of the one in Framingham which I have been to a couple of times.
This place used to be The Apple Spice Cafe and Juice Bar, which I visited once in the past. The decor now is definitely more interesting though.
This time around, we got the Mint Lassi (mint flavored yogurt drink),
the Firecracker Prawns (fried prawns wok tossed with Szechuan pepper, dry chili, curry leaves, topped with scallions and green chillies),
the Sev Puri ("puri" loaded with diced potatoes, onions, tamarind sauce, mint sauce topped with sev),
the Chatpata Chicken Bao (chicken in tangy sauce served in Chinese steamed bread garnished with fried onions)
and the Mutton Deewana Mastana Dum Rogan Gosh (Goat cubes cooked in onions, fresh ginger, touch of garlic and gently simmered in selected spices and yogurt).
The drink was a tad salty for our liking, but the food in general was interestingly flavorful, though a little too spicy at times. Glad this place opened up so we don't have to go all the way to Framingham.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
