March 4th 2012: Northeastern 6th Circle

The snow still covered the land where I was this morning, but I still decided to try my luck in the Northeastern 6th Circle, heading to Heald Pond in Pepperell. I was to be greatly disappointed though, with the snow still being too much for any effective hiking to be done. The view of the pond from Heald Street near Bayberry Street was still not bad.

Deciding not to hike any more for the rest of the day, some interesting places I visited in Pepperell follow. Some places of note include the Pepperell Covered Bridge, the views of the Nashua River at ~137 Main Street and there is also a place for skydiving here at Skydive Pepperell.

Done with Pepperell, I headed to Dunstable next. The town center area was the only place of note in absence of hiking in this town. Pictures of the buildings follow.

Finally, on the way to Tyngsborough, I happened by the scenic Woodward's Mill Pond on the corner of Pleasant Street and Pond Street.

In Tyngsborough, there were quite a few places of note, especially the large, green Tyngsborough Bridge stretching over the Merrimack River on Frost Road between Pawtucket Boulevard and Middlesex Road. Pictures of the places in Tyngsborough follow.

Feeling hungry, I decided to take a break by heading to the nearby Country View Diner at 171 Middlesex Road. I decided to get the biggest dish on the brunch menu, the Belly Buster Special, consisting of white toast, home fries, 3 scrambled eggs, bacon and 2 strawberry pancakes.
I enjoyed my brunch thoroughly, although I had to give up with a whole pancake remaining. Do be warned though, this place is cash only.

After lunch, I proceeded to finish my tour of Tyngsborough before heading to Chelmsford.

Heading into Chelmsford, there was a little bit more to see in terms of interesting structures. Freeman Lake was especially nice, with the town beach at the end of Grant Street and views from the Lance Corporal Jesse Patrick LeDrew Park on Willis Drive near Groton Road. Other places include the Veterans Memorial Park, and the Saint Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church.

Finally done with Chelmsford, it was off to Billerica next. I was only able to visit a few places though before it became too dark to sightsee any further.

When it was finally dark, I decided to have some Mexican food at Casa Blanca Mexican Restaurant. The decor here is actually pretty decent, although the food was actually pretty much the same as my previous experiences at Mexican restaurants here in Massachusetts.
I decided to get the Sopa de Albondigas, a meatball soup with vegetables, and the Chimichanga Cancun, which was pretty much like all the seafood chimichangas I have had in the past, with a different name.

I did not like the soup so much because it was slightly sour, although the Chimichanga was pretty good.

With that, my day of sightseeing was done.
