July 11th 2018: Eating Out in Peabody and Boston

We started out today with lunch at Bancroft and Co, a high end steakhouse in Peabody.

We got the Bancroft Petite Tender Teres Au Poivre with Red Wine Salt

And the Peach Cornmeal Upside-down Cake (black pepper caramel, Sweet corn ice cream) for dessert.

The steak was cooked just perfectly, and we actually thought the salt crystals were bacon bits, until we dipped the fries in them and realized they were way too salty. The dessert was delicious as well, all the individual components coming together really well.

Later, while in the South End area of Boston, I decided to get some eats from Coda Bar and Kitchen, a small bar restaurant.
I got the Surf and Turf Dog (all beef hot dog, fried calamari, tartar, cocktail sauce),
which was pretty interesting with calamari on top, although it was a little sour with the tartar sauce. Still pretty good though.

Not having my fill, I decided to head next door to Clery's, an Irish bar which I visited a long time ago but never got to try the food.
This time, I got the Clery's Tots (crispy handmade mashed potato croquettes, bacon, roasted jalapeƱo aioli, scallion),
Not bad, and really big and filling, but nothing special overall.

Still a good day for eating out though.
