September 22nd 2015: Driving to New Hampshire

Breakfast this morning was at Chelsea's, a small town diner in Middletown RI. We got the Eastern Omelet,
the Chourico with Eggs
and the Apple Stuffed French Toast.
the chourico was not bad, as was the French Toast, but overall, nothing special.

We passed by the Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth RI
on our way to the Lighthouse Inn in Laconia NH.

We learnt that our accomodations were actually at the Holiday Bay Cottages nearby, on the shores of Paugus Bay.
We tried to go see the Flume Gorge, but it turned out that they were closed for the day. To salvage what was left of the day, we tried to check out part of the Mount Lafayette and Mount Lincoln loop, the trailhead located at 44.142439, -71.682073, but only got to Walker Brook,
and failed to get to Dry Brook where all the waterfalls were before we decided to turn back for the day. At least there was a nice view of Cannon Mountain from the parking lot area.

Dinner was at Christmas Island Steakhouse back in Laconia,
where we got the Eggplant Parm (seasoned bread crumb eggplant with mozzarella, marinara over Penne),

the Veal Cacciatore (peppers, onions, mushrooms in sherry marinara over fettucine),
the Pasta Primavera (Penne Pasta with fresh veggies, tossed in garlic and olive oil),

the Prime Rib (hand selected, slowly roasted and served au jus) and Baked Scallops (baked in butter, with a cracker crumb topping).

Everything was just average, although the eggplant, prime rib and scallops were not bad.

Looking forward to going up Mount Washington tomorrow.
