After visiting the Public Library in the Brookline Village area of Brookline this morning,
we decided to have lunch at Dakzen, a new Thai restaurant in Somerville serving authentic Thai food.
We got the Khao Soi (curry noodle soup, shredded chicken, boiled egg, crispy wonton noodles, red onions, pickled chinese mustard, cilantro, scallion, celery and lime, egg noodles),
the Yen Ta Fo (spicy and tangy noodle soup, shrimp, calamari and crispy squid, fishball, fish cake, crispy tofu and crispy wonton, morning glory, white fungus mushroom, cilantro, scallion and celery, flat noodles)
and the Pang Yen (Shaved ice with syrup, condensed milk and bread) for dessert.
The noodle dishes were really delicious, but the dessert was a bit of a surprise and a let down, consisting of only ice cream, sauce and bread. Apparently that is how the dish is in Thailand. Not our thing though. We will definitely be back to try their other stuff though.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
