Today after work, I had dinner with a friend at Pellino's Ristorante in the North End area of Boston. The restaurant decor was pretty nice in this small restaurant, which is typical in the North End, and there were not many people, possibly because of the baseball game.
Looking at the menu, there wasn't much in terms of food, having 3 pages of drinks and just one page for food. I decided to get the Pan Roasted Cod (served on a bed of spinach risotto; laced with basil oil),
while my friend had the Veal Saltimbocca (Tender veal medallions with sage, prosciutto, spinach and fresh mozzarella).
My fish was super fresh, and that itself was good enough for the dish, with only a little dash of salt on the cod to complete the picture, and the risotto did not get in the way either. The veal was really good as well, not being too cooked or dry, the prosciutto playing the principal role of flavor in the dish. Simply excellent.
A definite recommend from me.
This blog is to serve as a record of my quest to visit every single town/city in Massachusetts and determine what are the great places to see/restaurants to eat at. Feel free to give me feedback on places that I might have missed out on, especially the great restaurants since I can only eat 3 times a day.
