October 4th 2013: Doing the Electric Run, Foxborough

Today after work, I headed into the town of Foxborough, where I was to do the Electric Run at the Gillette Stadium. When I arrived, I was still a little early, so I decided to grab some food from  Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, located within the Patriot Place complex, getting the Slaw Be Joe (Roast beef, provolone cheese, coleslaw,  Russian dressing and Mayo).

The sandwich was not too bad, although the meat was a little dry. I think I should have tried their famous sandwich instead, the Bobbie.  There were already a lot of people around,

and by the time I headed to the meeting place in front of the Hall at Patriot Place, everyone else was already there. We started putting on all sorts of tubes to make necklaces, bracelets and even shoe laces.

Soon after, we headed toward the start line, but as there were so many people, they had to start off runners in waves, so it was many waves before my group finally got its chance, so I took the time to take pictures.

There were several interesting things to see along the path, shown below.

In order not to get separated from the group, we used certain wands and indicators to hold above the crowd,

but I still got lost as I had to stop to take pictures along the way. Thankfully, I managed to find them at the finish line, where so many people were already gathered and enjoying the party.

There were fluorescent cups to drink water from there, so I decided to take home a complete set as well.

After everyone finally gathered in the area after the extremely fun run, we decided to head out away from the craziness and go grab some food nearby. We decided on going to Asian Ginger, a Pan Asian restaurant in town which happens to have all you can eat sushi for just over $20. We gladly accepted the challenge, ordering a lot of sashimi and sushi rolls, including the Jumbo Soft Shell Crab,

the Philly Roll, the Salmon Roll, the Fantastic Roll (Shrimp Tempura inside topped with Spicy Crabstick and Avocado Laced with Chef’s Spicy Eel Sauce),

the Vincent Roll (Eel, Cooked Shrimp, Avocado inside, topped Crabmeat, Avocado, Spicy Miso Sauce), the Snow White Roll (Spicy Tuna inside topped with Spicy White Tuna and Crispy White Fettuccini), the Special Rainbow Roll (Spicy Tuna, Mango inside topped with Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail and Avocado Laced, Chef’s Sauce), the Dragon Roll (Eel , Cucumber inside topped with Avocado Laced, Served with Eel Sauce),

the Foxboro Roll (Tempura Fried Soft Shell Crab, Spicy Tuna, Avocado Wrapped in, Served with House Sauce),

the Classic Avocado Salad,

the Red Hot Roll (Spicy Tuna & Tempura Crunch inside topped with Tuna and Avocado, Served with Chilli Sauce), the Black Dragon Roll (Crabstick, Avocado, Cucumber inside topped with Eel Avocado, Black Tobiko) and the T-N-T Roll (Tuna, Salmon, White Fish, Asparagus, Caviar Rolled deep Fried and w. Chef’s Spicy Sauce).
Of all the dishes, only the avocado salad was disappointing, having only a few avocado pieces. The fish was really fresh though, which made all the rolls we had really good as well. We are definitely coming back here again in the near future, especially for the cheap AYCE sushi.
