August 19th 2023: The District Wood Fired Kitchen, Worcester

 Today, we decided to check out the relatively new restaurant in Worcester, The District Wood Fired Kitchen, which has taken over from the Compass Tavern, which I visited a long time ago. Not much change to the decor from what I recall.

We got the Hamburger (served with fries) for the little one

and the Shroom & Truffle (Truffle oil, mushrooms, prosciutto, fig jam, arugula and parmesan).

Pretty good burger, even without any sauce, and the pizza too, with the fig jam. Not sure why the bad reviews, but pretty good meal here I must say.

August 15th 2023: Eating Out in Natick

 Today, while in Natick, we first had a quick bite at Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea in Natick, which apparently has other branches in other states as well.

We got the French Vietnamese Au Lait (French Chicory coffee and sweet condensed milk)

and the Spinach and Ricotta Croissant,

For dinner, we went to Baha Mexican Restaurant in town,

where we got the Fish and Shrimp Tacos

and the Al Pastor Quesadilla.

Amazing smoky flavors in the meat I must say. Hole in a wall place, but really good Mexican food.

August 14th 2023: Sichuan Gourmet, Burlington

 Today, after checking out Boston Children's at Lexington,

we decided to get lunch from the Sichuan Gourmet location in Burlington,

located within Burlington Square at 111 Middlesex Turnpike.

We got the Sliced Roast Beef and Tendon with Chili Sauce,

the Gin Gu Fish Filet,

and the Youpo Handmade Noodles with Fresh Cucumber.

Excellent food from this place, with leftovers to boot.

For dessert, we went to the Tous Les Jours nearby, getting the Blueberry Cream Cheese Bread,

the Chocolate Croissant,

the Red Bean Bread,

Green Tea Sesame Loaf

and Strawberry Lemonade.

  

August 13th 2023: Second Time at Panera Bread, Westborough

 Today, after checking out The Little Gym in Westborough,

we decided to get lunch from the Panera Bread location in Westborough, which we have been to once before,

this time getting the Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken (Chicken raised without antibiotics, romaine, fresh cilantro, toasted almonds, sesame seeds and wonton strips tossed in Asian sesame vinaigrette.) and Toasted Steak and White Cheddar Sandwich (Grass fed beef, aged white cheddar, pickled red onions and horseradish sauce on Artisan Ciabatta.)

and the Mac and Cheese Bread Bowl.

Pretty good meal, although we could not finish all that bread.

August 12th 2023: Brunch in Hudson, Ice Cream in Concord

 Today, we decided to have brunch again at the Wild Hare in Hudson, this time getting the Caffe Latte,

the P ORK BELLY SAMMIE  (l e m o n g r a s s & s oy g l a z e d p o rk b e l ly, sesame cucumber, & kimchi aioli o n h o u s e c i a b a t t a . s e r v e d w i t h h o u s e g r e e n s . )

and the WILD HAIR OF THE DOG  (p o r k & b e e f h o t d o g , t o m a t o j a m , c h e e s e s a u c e , o n i o n c r i s p s . s e r v e d w i t h h o u s e g r e e n s).

Really delicious, especially the crispy pork belly.

Later, we decided to get some ice cream from Bedford Farms Ice Cream in Concord, the Bedford location of which we visited before 2 years ago.

This time, we got Peach

and Red Raspberry Chip.

Pretty good end to a hot day.
