November 21st 2013: Dinner at the Brahmin, Boston

Today after work, I took my friend to check out the Brahmin, a pretty upscale lounge with nice decor. The music and noise was a little too loud the whole time we were here though.

For food, we got a few small plates, namely the Shrimp Cocktail (jumbo shrimp, lemon, housemade cocktail sauce),

which apparently was a wrong order as I had originally ordered the Shrimp Tacos, the Duck Confit Sliders (mini brioche, cranberry orange relish)

and the Ratatouille Bites (mini ratatouille tarts, served on a bed of roasted seasonal vegetables),

along with the Roasted Portabella Mushroom Flatbread (goat cheese, caramelized leeks, sundried tomato pesto).

To be honest, of all the dishes, only the shrimp cocktail was up to standard, though nothing amazing, and not something we even ordered.. The sliders were way too sour because of the cranberry sauce, while the flatbread was too bland. The ratatouille failed to impress as well.

Overall, even though the ambience was pretty decent, the food was subpar, and Red Lantern which is right next door is definitely much better. Not coming back here again.
