My friend and I woke up early today to head all the way to the town of Chicopee
|
Sphere 19 Church Street |
for the
Great New England Air Show, held at the
Westover Air Reserve Base. I have wanted to come here in the part to check out the Tower here, but have not been able to do so as it is a restricted area, at least not until now.
A pretty big base, with lots of planes in display today.
Once we were done, we headed to
Cana Korean Restaurant in town for lunch. A decent place with okay decor and somewhat small menu,
We got the Table BBQ Combo fo
r 2, consisting of Scallion Pajeon (Korean pancake with scallions),
the Vegetable Stone Pot Bibim-Bap (Vegetable Bibim-Bap (White rice topped with vegetables, egg and gochujang (chilli pepper paste) ) served in a hot stone bowl),
the Pork Belly,
the Beef Bulgogi,
to be fried on the table BBQ provided,
coming with side dishes as well,
and finally the Fish Shaped Ice Cream Sandwich ( filled with vanilla ice cream and red bean paste) for dessert.
Not bad, especially the rice and the red bean dessert, although I had hoped the dessert would look more fancy.
After lunch, we decided to head to Brimfield, where we had passed by the ongoing annual
Brimfield Antiques Show earlier this morning on the way to Chicopee. We walked around a bit perusing the sometimes quaint and unique wares,
but could only cover half the place before getting tired of it all and heading back to the car.
Not willing to wait in traffic, we decided to head to
Quabbin Park in Ware instead, enjoying the sights there before finally heading home for the day.
