My friend and I started out today
back at
Banh Mi Ba Le in the Dorchester area of Boston, this time getting their famous Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Beef),
Sugarcane Juice
and Durian Avocado Shake,
and a small Cha Oc (Vietnamese ham with periwinkle snails).
As expected, the sandwich was simply awesome, as were the drinks. The sausage, on the other hand, was really bland.
Our next meal was at 5 Spices House, a new Chinese restaurant at 58 Beach Street in Chinatown. We went with the Yu Hsiang Eggplant,
the Dan Dan Noodles
and the Sliced Cumin Flavored Tender Lamb with Chili Sauce.
Everything was really delicious, and the portions were really big as well. I definitely think this place is going to do well.
For dinner, we had it at
Artisan Bistro, an upscale restaurant
For food, we got the Lobster Tacos (Mango Sweet Chili, Guacamole)
and the Grilled Salmon (Pea Puree, New Potato Confit, Soft Poached Egg, Charred Scallion),
and the Mascarpone Grapefruit Sphere
and the French Macaron Gelato Sandwich for dessert.
The tacos were delicious with the mango chilli, as were the desserts, although the salmon was a little dry and the portions were really small. I had also expected the macaron to be something more than what we got just because of the misleading name.
Overall, I've had better.
As I was heading home, I decided to grab some Indian food takeout from
Boston Indian Kitchen, a small fast food like place,
Vanilla and Peach Lassi
and the Lamb Curry Bowl (Lamb braised in nine spices & yogurt, served with rice pilaf, tomato, cucumber & parsley salad).
The drink was really delicious, although the curry was way too sour for my liking.
With that, the end of a day of eating in Boston, and a fun weekend spent with my friend.
