July 30th 2018: Salem and Pelham NH in the Morning

I started out this morning passing through Brookline
The Dutch House

and then Salem NH,
Granite United Church
Mary Queen of Peace Church
Two Guys Smoke Shop
Hedgehog Park
going into Pelham NH
Gumpus Pond
for a hike at the Gumpus Pond Conservation Area, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
Nice views of the wetlands from the path, although it is starting to get a little overgrown.
/
For lunch, I decided to check out the new Thai restaurant in Millbury, Kai Mook, which has taken over from S.E.A Thai Land and Sea, which I visited once a long time ago.
From the interesting menu, I decided to get the Royal Crispy Noodle (Sweet Crispy Vermicelli Noodle, shallot tossed in Jehlek's recipe sauce)
and the Sukho Thai (chicken and pork broth, ground pork, chicken balls, Thai BBQ pork, boiled egg, bean sprouts, green beans, preserved radish, fried garlic, lime, peanuts, scallion, cilantro, chili powder and wonton crisps).
Pretty good presentation and taste. Unfortunately I was too full to try their dessert.

After work, I decided to get some dessert from Dulce D Leche Gelato Cafe in Framingham,

getting an Alfajore
and a box of truffles consisting of Peruvian, Dulce de Leche Pecan, Truffle Milk and Honey, Coconut in Milk Chocolate and Truffle Orange.
Pretty good actually, might come back again to try their other stuff.

July 29th 2018: Eating Out in Downtown Boston

Our eating out in Boston today started with Ogawa Coffee, which we visited a few months back. This time, we got the Egg Salad Meal (egg salad served on a croissant with lettuce and tomato, served with side salad and honey drizzled yogurt)

And the Sundae (chocolate sauce, corn flakes, house made whipped cream, coffee jelly, and Ice cream topped with dried cranberries and chocolate terrine).

The sandwich was just alright in my opinion, although the dessert was actually delicious, though not as good as the match a one we had the last time we were here.

Not satisfied with our meal,  we headed nearby to Luke's Lobster, a small seafood eatery,

where we got Luke's Trio ( half lobster roll (quarter pound of chilled wild caught lobster in a split top gun with melted lemon butter, mayo and secret seasoning), half crab roll, half shrimp roll).
Amazingly delicious, especially the buttered bread. No wonder they have locations all over the world.

July 28th 2018: Lunch at Porto Maltese, Brookline

After visiting the Watertown Public Library this morning,

we decided to have a seafood lunch at Porto Maltese, an upscale seafood restaurant in Brookline which has replaced the Fireplace, which I visited a long time ago. Pretty nice decor, much better than the old.
For food, we got the Skate Wing Soup (Skate Wing, vegetables),

which was way too salty,

and the Sea Salt Encrusted and Flambeed Branzino, which was prepared for us at our table. The salt encased fish arrived at our table,
then was set alight.
After the flames died down, the salt layer was cracked
and removed
before the waiter set about plating the meat
Giving us the final product.
Pretty fancy stuff, and the fish itself was not bad, but overall, way too expensive for me to consider coming back again.

From here, we decided to get some dessert from Crepe and Ice Cream 89C, yet another new rolled ice cream place in the Allston area of Boston.
Instead of rolled ice cream, we decided to get the Matcha Chocolate Truffles (served with strawberry, chocolate truffles, matcha custard cream, whipped yogurt, topped with chocolate syrup, crunched pistachio),
which looked nice in presentation, but didn't really taste special in flavor, especially without ice cream. Not coming back again for sure, especially after waiting so long for it as well.

July 27th 2018: Pelham, Hudson and Nashua NH in the Morning

I passed through Everett this morning,
Everett Portuguese Church

starting out with a hike at the Little Island Pond Conservation Area in Pelham NH, where the rough path I took is shown below in pink.
Nothing much to see here, and I got lost as well, veering well off course and ending up back on the road.
From here, I headed to my next hike at the Costa Conservation Area nearby. The path I took here is shown below in pink.
Nothing much to see at the power lines.
My last hike in town was at Muldoon Park, where the path I took is shown below in pink.
I got a little disorientated due to the inconsistent numbering of the holes on the disc gold course, but eventually found my way. Nothing much to see at Beaver Brook though.
From here, it was on to another hike at the Hudson Town Forest in Hudson NH. The rough path I took here is shown below in pink.
Once again, another disappointing hike,
With nothing to see at the supposed viewpoints,
The only thing of slight note is the small water body with the wildlife blind.
With that, I called it a day for hiking, passing through Nashua NH
St. Mary and Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church
Temple Beth Abraham
First Baptist Church
Pilgrim Congregational Church
on the way to the Townsend Historical Society in Townsend MA. Not much of a museum really.
After work, I grabbed a Beantown Dog (100% beef dog smothered in baked beans, onions , bacon and grated cheddar cheese) from Culinary Delights in Natick.

Apparently this place is the same as Spalla's which it has taken the place of, that I visited a long time ago and actually got the same hot dog too. Nothing special though, and I think the quality has gone down too.
