June 13th 2015: Picking Strawberries at Lookout Farm, Natick

My friend and I started out early this morning in the town of Natick, checking out the South Natick Dam before heading to the Lookout Farm in town. We were really early, so we walked around to admire the flowers for a bit.
When the place finally opened,

we were one of the first to get in and get our trays to start picking strawberries.
It was a pretty small patch,
but filled with small
and surprisingly deliciously sweet strawberries.

Despite constantly snacking on them, our boxes were soon heaped with strawberries,

and we called it a day.

We headed next to the Luke Adams Glass Studio in Norwood to pick up the glass jewelry we made 2 weeks ago, which turned out pretty good,
we headed to Victoria's Cafe, a Mediterranean place which is a bit of a pizza takeout place in town for lunch.
For food, we got the Cauliflower (fried and topped with tahini sauce),

the Cobb Salad (Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, hard boiled egg, bacon, and chicken)

and the Mixed Kabob (Chicken, Beef, & Kafta served with rice pilaf, hummus, & salad),
which came with hummus and House Salad (Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, & bell peppers) as well.
The salads were way too sour for me, with the asparagus and avocado not being very fresh, and the kabob dish was a little underwhelming too.. The hummus and cauliflower were not bad though. Overall, still not coming back here ever.

After lunch, we stopped by Bibi Cafe and Bakery, a nice little place in Westwood for some dessert,

getting a Raspberry Mini Cheesecake.
A little on the hard side though.

With that, we headed home for the day with our stash of strawberries, passing by the Minot Rose Garden in Brookline, where the roses were blooming.

Perhaps we will go pick more next week.
