Today, I had dinner with my friend at
Loretta's Last Call, a sports bar located in the Fenway area of Boston.
I was glad it was not a game night, as the place would probably have been packed. Instead, it was quite empty tonight.
My friend got the Coors Non-Alcoholic, which tastes like a beer without the alcohol. Seriously, what's the point of that?
For food, we got the Fried Green Tomatoes (bacon ranch and pickled okra),
the Crispy Fried Catfish Sliders (green olive tartar sauce and greens)
and the goal of tonight's dinner, the Erica's Buttermilk chicken.
However, the tomatoes had too much batter on them and were not very crispy, the catfish though fresh was pretty bland, and the chicken though juicy had hard skin that tasted weird, though still a little crispy. What a disappointing meal.
From here, we hurried to Malden to check out
Monkey King Tea just in time before it closed, bumping into some friends of ours there. As we were in a hurry to catch a movie, we ordered the Ying Yang (half milk tea, half coffee) and the Monkey King Tea (regular black milk tea).
Not bad, and it did make our funny movie "
Spy" at the
Showcase Cinemas De Lux Revere all the more enjoyable.
