December 27th 2014: A Day of Exploring Springfield

I started out early this morning in Ludlow, Getting breakfast at Bob's Restaurant, a typical small town diner at 200 Center Street. I got the Hot Chocolate

And the Big Bob's Omelette (5 eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, chourico,  Kielbasa, hash, cheese),

Which wasn't too bad, though I could only eat half of it.

Next, it was on to Springfield for a day of sightseeing,

With my first museum visit being at the Springfield Armory

detailing the history of arms making in this facility. Pictures I took here follow.
From here, I went to visit the Titanic Historical Society in town, which is actually located inside Henry's Jewelry, a small store in a sketchy area of town. Unfortunately,  I was not allowed to take any pictures in here of various Titanic artifacts and other memorabilia from shows and other merchandise made concerning the sunken ship..

From here, I headed to the Springfield Museums area to visit the museums here. As I had to get the admission ticket from the Springfield Science Museum,

I started my exploration there.

There was an interesting exhibition of gingerbread houses here as well.

Next, the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum.

Third on the list was the Michele and Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts.
There was a nice collection of snow globes here, but I was not allowed to take pictures here.

Finally, the Museum of Springfield History.

Not a bad collection of museums, for a relatively small price.

I headed to lunch at the Six Corners Sandwich Shop, a takeout place in town where I got a Vanilla Milkshake and a Balboa Sandwich (hot roast beef and mozzarella cheese on a Toasted garlic roll with French fries).

Nothing special really.

What a terrible way to end an otherwise wonderful day. Hope I'll feel better tomorrow.
