I brought my friend to Cambridge this morning to check out the views by the
Charles River,
And the
MIT campus.
We had breakfast at
The Friendly Toast,
where I went with the Raspberry Cocoa
And the Ole Miss (cayenne cheddar toast topped with Veggie sausage, mashed Chipotle sweet potatoes, two scrambled eggs and Mango sour cream),
While my friend got the Omar's Home Fries (huge pile of red potatoes, Broccoli, onions, Parmesan, corn, peas and a touch of soy sauce with homemade toast).
I wasn't a fan of the onions in my friend's Dish, although mine was pretty interesting with the Mango sour cream and the Spicy toast. The best was the Cocoa though, as I never thought Raspberry could go so well with Cocoa.
We still had some time, so we checked out Prospect Hill Park in Somerville, where someone had made pretty cool snow sculptures.
And
Tufts University before I had to take him to the airport.
After doing so, as I had the rest of the day still, I headed south, going for my next meal at
Good Days Restaurant in West Bridgewater, where the family style restaurant diner was already full of people. Thankfully, there was still space for me, so I got down to ordering immediately, getting the Pineapple Sundae,
The Baked Dutch Pancake (served with lemons and powdered sugar),
And the Oven Baked Corned Beef Hash and Cheese Omelette (grilled hash folded into a Cheese Omelette).
The Sundae wasn't too bad, although it definitely had a lot of whipped cream. The pancake and Omelette were pretty in testing, and one could definitely tell the difference as they were oven Baked. The pancake was definitely better though, the combination of Lemon and powdered sugar doing the trick nicely.
After my filling meal, I headed into Raynham, where the largest Thai Bhuddist temple outside of Thailand is located,

Then into Taunton

Before going into Middleborough for much of the day.

One place of note was the Peter Oliver's Colonial Mill Park at 318 Nemasket Street,
but the most beautiful spot in town today has to be Long Point Road, which straddles
Pocksha Pond
and
Great Quittacas Pond.
I then did a bit of Lakeville

Kelley Conservation Area,
End of Old Bridge Street
|
And Bridgewater
Before finally calling it a day and going for an Italian dinner at
Crispi's, a family style restaurant in Bridgewater.
For food, I decided to get the Lobster Ravioli appetiser
And the Shrimp Saltimbocca (sautéed shrimp, mushrooms and prosciutto layered with Eggplant and mozzarella topped by a sage and Sherry cream sauce).
The Ravioli were just so so, although the Shrimp was pretty good with the sauce and all the other ingredients in it. Overall, not too bad an end to a fun weekend of showing my friend around town.
