Today after work, I headed into Revere to watch "
Paddington" at the
Showcase Cinemas De De Lux Revere with a friend.
Before that, we went to
Maekha Thai, a Thai place in town.
For drinks, my friend requested a special Lime Thai Tea that was not on the menu,
which she thought wasn't sweet enough and I thought was way too intense.
My Avocado Fruit Shake was a little gritty, which my friend said was due to the avocado not being fresh.
The Curried Apple Pumpkin Soup was delicious though, not having much pumpkin taste in it.
The
Steamed Mussels (Steamed mussels with Thai herbs, dry galangal, basil, lemon grass, red peppers, onions and carrots. Served with Thai style chili dipping sauce) were pretty good as well, especially with the spicy sauce on the side.
The Papaya Salad with Shrimp (A popular Thai salad, Som Tum consists of fresh shredded green papaya, carrots, tomatoes and green beans tossed in Thai sauce with flavors of lime, hints of chili, garlic and peanuts) had only 2 pieces of shrimp in it, but still tasty with some kick to it.
The Crispy Noodle Pad Thai (Stir-fried crispy yellow noodle with eggs, bean sprouts, scallions, turnips in a special pad Thai sauce topped with ground peanuts) was the best dish of the night, the noodles being crispy and the sauce going really well with the dish.
We got dessert as well, getting the Rambutan in Syrup on Ice
and the Sticky Rice with Thai Custard and Coconut Sauce.
The rambutan was good, but way too simplistic, coming out from a can, and the sticky rice was excellent as well, although we could hardly finish it after eating everything else.
The theater itself has changed since the last time I was here, having reclining seats and all, and today tickets were sold for cheap as well.
The movie itself was pretty funny as well. Nice night it turned out to be.
